3/24/2023 0 Comments The evil inside 2013 trailerBut one thing is for sure, the impact that that little demo had on the horror genre is felt to day, with even juggernaut series like Resident Evil cribbing the first-person, claustrophobic mood and design. We’ll never know how closely the full game would’ve resembled that playable P.T. demo, itself designed as a playable introduction to Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro’s defunct foray into the aforementioned Silent Hill series. These days, horror seems to mostly be flourishing in the walking simulator genre, perhaps in no small part thanks to the endearing love for the now unobtainable P.T. Developers used to combine action games with horror aesthetics, without needing to constantly rely on jump scares. When does it come out by the way? I could probably look it up, but I'm lazyĭigging the second video you added in, btw.I used to a huge fan of horror games and the horror genre - games like Manhunt and The Suffering, or classic staples like the earlier Silent Hill and Resident Evil titles. I may just need to take your suggestion and invest in some solid horror movies until this game comes out. Then I played the demo for the third game back when it was first on the XBL Marketplace (Games Store) and I don't know why they chose such a horrible section of the game to show off.the demo sucked! I didn't really like the half I played, but god knows how far I got into it. The second one wasn't as bad with the horror aspects but I stopped halfway through since I borrowed it from a friend and had to return it. I kinda liked the first one (only played it once), but still.the controls never "sat" right with me and it was really intense for me. I guess I just scare way too easily and that's a factor that played into it LOL. It's the old one with the butcher and he chainsaws Sebastian in half, but some new elements of the game are being discussed. I also edited the OP so now the trailer doesn't have some random guy talking before it starts, and I added another gameplay video. Halloween is almost here! My favorite holiday. Maybe you should watch some nice horror movies to pass the time until The Evil Within. Dead Space 2 had a bit more survival horror in my opinion, but that's due to hardcore mode when you had to make it through the game on a fairly difficult difficulty with only three saves.Īww, you didn't like Dead Space? Was it because you didn't DIDN'T like it, or was it because you thought it was too scary? Lmao, you're fucking weird dude For sure, once this thread reaches 7 replies I'll stop posting lol!ĭead Space still had quite a few action elements in it, so while those games weren't exactly true survival horror, they still had horror elements. But I don't know what draws me in to The Evil Within even though I scare easily. I didn't like Dead Space or Dead Space 2 lol. I will admit I am not a fan of true survival horror games. That'll be fucked up.īut I'm very VERY excited for this game, excited enough to get it for the 360 because I don't want to purchase the One right away. We should make it a trend, to stop posting after 7 replies to the OP in The Evil Within forums. I also love how the other three threads in this forum have 7 replies to the OP, so when you look at the right and see the replies column in the thread overview it's justĪnd the 2 for this thread up top. Maybe try to make an obvious connection between RESIDENT evil and the evil WITHIN? That's a bad guess. Wonder why they didn't go with that name here. I hope TEW can fuck with my mind, I love how it's called Psycho Break out East. Love to play Dead Space at midnight with the lights out. The Dead Space games (especially the second) are among my favorites this gen, and I'd love to see if The Evil Within can top it (despite being on both current and next gen systems). Yes, and no! Depends on how many horror games you play. But is it bad that I already know I'll act like a pussy when playing?
